How does it taste?

The unique flavour of  Kaffee Pura organic Yirgacheffe can be best compared to meadow full of wonderfully fragrant flowers upon which various kinds of fruit ripen.Thanks to its complex aromas and mild sweetness, it is ideally suited for iced coffee and Tiramisu.

Where is it from?

Our Yirgacheffe raw coffee comes from the world renowned coffee growing region Yirgacheffe in   central southern Ethiopia. Our raw coffee grows there at a high of around 2,000m abover sea level.

How is it processed?

From the time they are grown to the point at which they are harvested, our Yirgacheffe coffee beans are gently processed. Most of the individual work steps are performed manually. We contribute to responsible treatment of our planet by allowing the coffee trees to grow in an eco-friendly way. Our Yirgacheffe beans are wet processed, which means that the pulp is removed directly after the coffee cherries are harvested. This is known as Pulping. Afterwards the beans are washed and dried. This form of processing allows beans to have a complex and intense aroma later on.

How is it roasted?

Our organic Yiragacheffe coffee beans are gently roasted in our own roastery via traditional roasting method. This Method ensures that the high qualtiy of the coffee is maintained and beyond that, this creates a coffee that is much easier to digest than beans are roasted via industrial hot air method. If you've always wanted to roast your own coffee, we also offer Limu  in its unroasted form: raw coffee.

How fair is our Yirgacheffe coffee?

Fairness is a major concern for our company. We directly import our coffee, thus guaranteeing farmer of the Sidamo-Coffee-Growing-Region a significantly higher price than if we would use any other fair trade label. We prefer to have the the coffee growers receive the money that would otherwise pay for high administrative costs, thus further improving the local living and working standards in the long run. 

COFFEE PURA Yirgacheffe coffee is 100% genuine single origin Arabica coffee from Ethiopia. This coffee is organically certified and just like all our coffee varieties, it is fairly traded.
